BIRD
Bio-diversity Research and Development Centre is a governmental registered Non-Governmental
Organization (NGO) located in Tikapur, Kailali district and its branch office in
Kathmandu Nepal. The organisation was established in 2000. Nepal aims at bio-diversity
conservation, environmental improvement, access to better health and education poverty
alleviation programs. Nepal has a diverse mixture of ethnic groups with unique languages,
cultural traditions, and biodiversity values for eco-tourism and medication that
has global importance.
Main goals
To integrate conservation with development by:

safeguarding the bio-diversity of the area

improving the socio-economic condition of the local people through community based
enterprises, eco-tourism activities etc and,

developing and studying development models for social up-liftment
